Since there are no takers in the post to guess which picture is showing the seed of Romaine Lettuce,
think I'll just share my favourite shot of it...
Do they look like seed of some weeds? haha...
Growing an edible / vegetable garden using containers or pots in urban city KL , Malaysia.
very cool pic!
ReplyDeletethey do look a bit like dandy lions: great photo!
ReplyDeletehaha... thx for your compliment, Meredehuit & rustyhoe.
ReplyDeletei was toying with a self-made flash diffuser on my trusted Lumix compact camera. think it took me close to 10 shots just to get this one right.
Definitely look like the weeds I know and love to hate. But then, we have a lot of wild lettuce to contend with around here. Very nice shot. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Never do I expect romaine lettuce to have blooms and seeds! You have triggered my interest in growing romaine lettuce!
ReplyDeleteMy romaine lettuce has begun flowering, and the flowering pods are sticky with white goo. I would like to harvest the seeds but have no idea what they look like or when it goes to seed. The plants are now about 4ft tall. Does anything else happen after the plant flowers and the flowers fall off and die? Or does it just keep flowering? If that's the case where are the seeds? As you can tell I'm a novice at this whole garden thing?
ReplyDeleteJ.C., good luck !
ReplyDeleteJacqueline, I'm not sure about yours but mine has come full circle.
Well, to be accurate, I actually did not have the chance to know if it will still keep growing as the main stem was broken off during one windy storm...
Welcome to the green finger club, I'm a novice too... haha.
